Siculo – Norman Building

This Siculo – Norman Building is one of the oldest buildings in Birgu believed to date back to the 13th century. It is built in what is known as the Siculo-Norman style. The term Siculo-Norman refers to the architectural style that evolved during the Norman occupation of Sicily and which was exported to Malta when Malta was under the rule of Sicily and the Normans. Today the Siculo – Norman Building is privately owned and serves as a museum which is open for the public.
