The Gardjola Gardens were constructed on a grid pattern by order of Grand Master Claude De La Sengle. The Gardjola sits on the bastion and has panoramic views over the entrance of the Grand Harbour, Fort St. Angelo, the docks in Marsa and Valletta. It has a guard tower (the Gardjola) which purpose was to guard the harbour. Today the Gardjola Gardens is a public park containing palm trees, a fountain and various monument. The Gardjola Gardens provide a relaxing place where one can enjoy the breathtaking view of the harbour.
