Wara li ftit taż-żmien ilu tlesta x-xogħol ta’ restawr fuq il-Bieb ta’ Notre Dame u l-ewwel fażi ta’ xogħol ta’ restawr fuq il-bastjun ta’ Notre Dame, li jagħmlu parti mill-Kottonera Lines, issa qed naraw il-bidu ta’ xogħol ta’ restawr fuq it-tieni fażi tal-bastjun ta’ Notre Dame. F’din il-fażi se terġa’ tinkixef parti kbira minn dan il-bastjun li kienet intradmet bit-terrapien matul it-Tieni Gwerra Dinjija. B’dawn ix-xogħlijiet ta’ restawr fuq dawn il-fortifikazzjonijiet, li jagħmlu parti mill-istrateġija għall-Kottonera, qegħdin inkomplu nikkonservaw dawn il-ġawhar storiku li bihom hija mgħonija l-Kottonera. Dan ix-xogħol qed isir mid-Dipartiment tar-Restawr u l-Preservazzjoni bil-kollaborazzjoni tal-Fondazzjoni Kottonera.
After the recent completion of restoration work on the Notre Dame Gate and the first phase of restoration on the Notre Dame bastion, which form part of the Cottonera Lines, we are now witnessing the beginning of restoration work on the second phase of the Notre Dame bastion. In this phase, a large part of the bastion, which was buried under rubble during World War II , will be uncovered once again.
Through these restoration works on these fortifications, which are part of the strategy for Cottonera, we are continuing to preserve the historical treasures that enrich the area. This work is being carried out by the Department of Restoration and Preservation in collaboration with the Kottonera Foundation.
