In 1988, the idea to have a Maltese Maritime Museum was proposed. It took 4 years for the necessary artifacts to be collected and on 24 July 1992 the museum opened its doors to the public. The Museum charts 7000 years of Malta’s Maritime history, from prehistory to the present day.
