Esplora – the National Interactive Science Centre, opened its doors to the public on the 28th October 2016. The complex was formerly used as a hospital by the Royal Navy. Esplora promotes informal science learning through a hands-on approach. It is the first project of its kind in Malta and is administered by the Malta Council for Science and Technology. It seeks to cultivate scientific curiosity and imagination by triggering a passion for questioning and investigating. Esplora projects science as being fun, exciting, and enjoyable as it gives visitors the opportunity to understand science at their own pace.
